I love Macro Sunday

I have a book by Linda Ravenscroft called 'How to draw and paint Fairyland', and in it she suggests the study of nature, to find their habitat, and flowers to fill it, to take photographs etc. for inspiration. She also suggests looking at flowers from a different angle.
Well, take the humble Nasturtium for instance.  These are growing in my hanging basket - what beautiful shapes they are from the back.  This one reminds me of a humming bird .....
and the colours are so pure.
Mother Nature has gone a bit wild with her paintbrush on this one .....
 and this one .....
but the symmetry in the centre of this one if just amazing.   I just love using my macro button - I then get time to have a drool over all the detail I can't really see/notice with my naked eye!
Till next time ......

What a lot we miss in our busy lives. I've enjoyed taking time to enjoy the detail in your nasturtiums and have never really looked at them from the back. They may be humble but are so cheering and come back year after year. I can't remember when I last sowed seed for them.

hey gorgeous, I have a love/hate relationship with this plant.... they are SO easy to grow and flower in abundance BUT they attract a lot of fly and are predominantly orange{ish...which I have a phobia of!

But if you want something you don't really need to look after then this is the one....

Great shots, it's always eye opening to see things from a different angle!

hugs

I have always loved Nasturtium, they are so bright and happy and the perfect fairy garden flower. You are right Val, I never noticed how that one view looks exactly like a hummer and I bet hummers love to visit them!! Beautiful!
