What a difference a stitch makes.......

Further to my last post..... I've stitched a couple of pieces onto some wadding and added some bits of embellishments.
I always find it pleasing when I see how different one piece looks from another just by choosing a different thread for the satin stitch edge.

What a lovely lesson to take into the New Year! I hadn't realised HOW MUCH difference the colour of the satin stitch makes.

Isn't it wonderful to see the difference that such "small" changes make -- reminds us how much of a surprise we're in for with every piece even when completely planned! :-)

These are lovely Val, and as you say the stitching makes all the difference to the way they look.

Love what you've done, did you make the little faces or buy them.

Fantastic, Val, the stitching really integrates the face into the background in the second one and I like the eyelashes too. So different to the top one, which I like for different reasons.

Have a very happy NY
All the best

You are sew right. The added stitching and embellishments are just what those lovely backgrounds needed.
Best Wishes for the coming New Year!

These have turned out really well Val. I love the second one. Maybe you could add a tag saying 'May' on it??? **LOL**

Very nice Val! Is the face made from clay?

Totally fabulous Val!! Love the way you have so clearly demonstrated the difference the "framing" makes!! Your background is really really nice - it looks more substantial than tissue paper on cheesecloth! Guess what? I have bought lots of new napkins while I was on holidays - they haven't got text on them but they are very versatile. I'll send you some. Wishing you a wonderful (and very creative) 2008!
